Softswitch maker Redcom Laboratories recently announced major enhancements to its REDCOM (News - Alert) SLICE product line.
The company’s REDCOM SLICE 2100 softswitch now packs even more features and capabilities into its slim (just 1U) form factor. Specifically the number of SIP lines supported has increased from 1,000 to 2,000 per unit, plus the solution now supports SNMP monitoring.
What’s more, Centrex business line groups have been added (SIP and TDM), plus each unit now sports a Radio Line Interface Module supporting up to two radios.
Other additions include a Media Services Circuit Module for additional media gateway capabilities; and a Secure Device Module supporting secure communications.
All REDCOM SLICE 2100 modules in Version 4 are hot-swappable, allowing customization of the system according to network requirements. Existing customers have a smooth migration path to the new software.
In addition to supporting up to 2,000 VoIP lines, the SLICE 2100 supports up to 24 analog lines, 4 ISDN BRI lines, and two field-configurable T1/E1 spans expandable up to 6 T1/E1s. The telephony solution supports a full range of standards and protocols, including standard SIP telephones, T1, E1, ISDN (PRI/BRI), Euro ISDN (PRI/BRI), MF/R1, MFC R2, GR-303, V5.2, C7/SS7, SIP, IPv4 and IPv6. What’s more this softswitch supports the Modem over IP (V.150.1) and Fax over IP (T.38) protocols.
