Octasic’s Vocallo Media Gateway (MGW) multi-core DSP platform has been selected by Hitachi (News - Alert) for use in its hybrid IP-PBX NETTOWER CX-01 targeted at large and medium-sized enterprises. Thanks to Vocallo MGW, Hitachi has been able to build the NETTOWER CX-01 to provide enterprise customers the option to seamlessly combine both corporate data networks and TDM voice networks.
The NETTOWER CX-01 offers an IP-PBX that meets current enterprise requirements in reliability and flexible scalability.
Officials with Octasic (News - Alert) said that Hitachi has integrated the company’s multi-core processor into NETTOWER CX-01 for voice media processing in VoIP.
Company officials pointed out that Octasic also provides the complete software for its processor and acts as a single source vendor to Hitachi. Customers of Hitachi will also benefit from the industry's leading echo cancellation and voice quality enhancement technology.
According to company officials, the Vocallo MGW software package includes voice processing with support for a wide range of wideband codecs such as AMR-WB (G.722.2), G.722, G.722.1, G.729.1 and SILK.
Moreover, video conferencing capabilities can be added to the same platform in a cost-effective manner through a software upgrade. Vocallo MGW's video solutions support all popular codecs including H.263, MPEG-4 and H.264.
