Packet8 and MobileMax (News - Alert) have launched a brand new user-friendly mobile calling service. The service is an affordable, simple and high quality digital voice solution intended for overseas calling.

Called "Packet8 MobileTalk,” the service is based on MobileMax Residential Edition software for service providers and carriers. The MobileTalk solution uses a downloadable software application which can be saved on a smart phone and which can route international calls from the phone through the Packet8 digital VoIP network—allowing cell phone users to greatly reduce their international phone bills and to also maintain voice quality.

Phone alls are carried to the Packet8 digital voice network over the subscriber's cellular voice service, without the need for access to a costly monthly data plan or for WiFi access. Packet8 MobileTalk phone calls boast impeccable voice quality, since all calls are routed over the Packet8 VoIP digital voice network.

Calling card, callback and reduced-rate international voice services usually require the user to dial many key strokes in addition to their destination number, or to make phone calls via cumbersome software applications. But Packet8 MobileTalk users can dial calls directly and easily with no added keystrokes. The Packet8 MobileTalk software application has the ability to automatically identify the international prefix of an input number, and it can then redirect the call to a local Packet8 network access point.
