The new age of fax technology has arrived and it is no longer found in analog machines that run a phone line to the wall. Today, fax technology is integrated into the all-IP network to allow users to send and receive faxes from their desktop, archive faxed documents in an online document management system and reduce overall time involved in the activities necessary to communicate through fax.
This technology, known as Fax over Internet Protocol (FoIP) is an area of expertise for Sagemcom. The company is set to exhibit its FoIP solutions at the Microsoft (News - Alert) Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) show next week in Washington D.C. More than 14,000 attendees are expected to be present and Sagemcom's booth (116) will be ready for FoIP experts to demonstrate the value of the company's offerings.
Participation in this event is part of Microsoft's newly adopted strategy of partnering with third-party fax solution providers in an effort to interoperate with Exchange 2010. As previously embedded inbound fax solutions provided within Exchange 2007 are no longer available, the opportunity is now there for Microsoft to partner with Sagemcom and its XMediusFAX.
To provide an overview, XMediusFAX leverages IP Telephony and unified communications (UC) systems to enhance productivity, collaboration and ROI through the integration of the fax on the desktop. The solution can be made to easily interoperate with its adjoining elements to ensure fax functionality is preserved as users have become accustomed, or even better.
The XMediusFAX, is the only software-only IP fax server solution that meets a set of stringent requirements for ensured interoperability with Exchange 2010. Organizations can rely on XMediusFAX to migrate from Exchange 2007 to 2010 while still enjoying the ability to receive inbound faxes with minimum disruption to their configurations and operations.
