Sagemcom Joins Cisco Developer Network; Gains Praise from XMediusFAX Users

By Susan J. Campbell, TMCnet Contributing Editor

The Cisco (News - Alert) Developer Network has gained a new member in Sagemcom as a solution developer within the Integrated Services Router (ISR) and Unified Communications (News - Alert) (UC) technology categories.

Sagemcom is also celebrating that its XMediusFAX AXP 6.5 Edition Fax over IP (FoIP) server software has successfully completed interoperability testing with the Cisco Application eXtension Platform (AXP) version 1.5.2 for the Cisco ISR G2 (News - Alert) and the Cisco Unified Communication Manager 8.0.

Cisco third-party developers unite within the Cisco Developer Network to deliver tested interoperable solutions to joint customers. Sagemcom shares Cisco's strong commitment to customer service and satisfaction. The company has now completed interoperability verification testing based on criteria set out by Cisco and can provide customers 24 hour, seven-days-a-week customer support.

The XMediusFAX 6.5 IP fax server offers partners server survivability solutions so that customers can more quickly deploy a broad range of Cisco Compatible business applications, devices or services that will enhance the capabilities, performance and management of their Cisco network.

Beyond visiting the site, Sagemcom has also provided key customer testimonials about their experience with the Sagemcom XMediusFAX solution. In the financial services space, Webster First Federal Credit Union was excited with their implementation:
"After careful market research and valued recommendations, we selected Sagemcom's XMediusFAX AXP Edition.  Webster First Federal Credit Union depends on IP fax notably for mission-critical documents pertaining to our real estate, construction, term loans, mortgage and insurance services.
We are extremely satisfied with our 12-channel XMediusFAX branch deployment at Webster First Federal Credit Union.  The fax server is rock solid!!!  It has helped us eliminate all the paper, ink and copper line costs associated with maintaining 20 fax machines across our remote branch locations.
Our 80 staff members at Webster First depend on XMediusFAX for its reliability, ease-of-use and email integration.  We definitely improved efficiencies in our organization's corporate and branch IT infrastructure."
James Brevigleiri, Vice-President of IT, Webster First Federal Credit Union
Sagemcom can also deliver value to the automotive industry with Cisco Gold Partner, NWN Corporation. The company prefer's Sagemcom's XMediusFAX FoIP solution over other vendors to serve its customers with Cisco Unified IP Communications infrastructures.
Robert Cloutier, Voice Practice Manager, NWN (News - Alert) Corporation, had recently recommended  XMediusFAX AXP to Southern Auto Auction (SAA), the largest independent auto auction in the U.S. The company now depends on Sagemcom's XMediusFAX AXP Edition FoIP solution for its daily average of 300 outbound faxes.
"SAA has 150 staff members who utilize IP fax for sending out important documents such as auto auction sales announcements, run sheets, dealer applications, and transportation requests.  Our users only need to hit one function key to send out faxes, since we have it programmed to automatically pull out the recipients' fax numbers and templates.
We love it because it saves on paper… faxes travel like email and are archived into a simple storage and retrieval system.  This saves SAA from having boxes and boxes of paper.  Furthermore, users receive immediate email notifications on whether their faxes have successfully transmitted.  The fact they do not need to leave their desks for faxing saves SAA at least 30 minutes per day, per person."
Mike Penda,  IT Director, Southern Auto Auction
Du Pareil au Même (DPAM), a forerunner in children's fashion from France, relies on XMediusFAX for rapid and secure faxing between its retail employees, customers and suppliers. The company operates 335 stores in 20 countries. With XMediusFAX AXP, DPAM can efficiently transmit invoices, purchase orders, inventory/merchandise reports, retail store orders and supply chain documents.
"We selected Sagemcom's XMediusFAX AXP because it enabled us to keep a consolidated and paperless audit trail of all our retail transactions without the high cost for maintaining 20 legacy fax machines.  XMediusFAX is really easy to use, and required virtually no training at all in our 20 retail outlets.  DPAM has since greatly optimized operations and enhanced customer service with our new 16-channel XMediusFAX setup."
Mr. Kaervagoret, Director of Information Systems, Du Pareil au Même
