When it comes to deploying IP fax
services, many users aren’t too concerned with the intricacies of the technology. Most companies want to ensure the service works, and that it works well.
Specifically, vendors must follow three criterion to achieve a UM integration. The first, Miller said, is to support SIP over TCP, which pushes fax standards into the next generation VoIP solution. The second is to offer TLS for security. And finally, vendors need the ability to support SMP TLS for security purposes, Miller said.
“These three anchor elements must be part of a solution to be…UM certified,” Miller said.
