babyTEL Announces Availability of Real-time T.38 Fax Encryption Solution

By Calvin Azuri, TMCnet Contributor

babyTEL announced the roll-out of a new solution offering encryption for T.38 real-time fax over Internet protocol (FoIP) transmission. The new solution encrypts the T.38 signal as well as the RTP media for transmission over Internet protocol. The latest development allows organizations to comply with HIPAA, SOX and other Privacy Protection laws while at the same time leveraging the architectural advantages of SIP Internet telephony to generate huge cost savings on telephony infrastructure.

babyTEL Inc., is a Canada-based organization providing VoIP and FoIP services for both residential and commercial customers across Canada and the US. The company is a leading VoIP service provider in Canada with a strong presence in the US.

In a statement, Stephen Dorsey (News - Alert), chief executive officer at babyTEL, said “We are very pleased to announce this development. Enterprise has been demanding a real-time solution for encrypting T.38 fax over the Internet and we have built an elegant and seamless solution for those companies that have mission critical fax applications.”

The newly launched encryption solution will be combined with babyTEL’s underlying architecture for managing business continuity, allowing organizations to create a sophisticated and scalable virtual solution to manage telecommunication infrastructure and reduce associated costs. Its Real-Time T.38 Encryption over Internet solution can be easily deployed by all organizations using IP fax servers.

Additionally, the babyTEL’s “VoIP Triple Play (News - Alert)” offering will enable organizations to seamlessly transition their analog-based legacy telecommunication systems, including telephone, modem and fax services, to IP-enabled servers. This move allows enterprises to consolidate their IP telephony systems, multi-function devices, fax machines, point of sale and alarm devices onto a single framework connected to the Internet via fixed line, wireless or satellite technology.
