The year is better than half over now, and with the arrival of August, a wide array of tech companies are looking seriously at plans for ITEXPO, to be held August 27-29 at the Mandalay Bay casino and resort in Las Vegas. One of these companies is Sagemcom (News - Alert), who has plans to show off a fairly wide chunk of its product line, and just how that product line can offer some significant value for users.

Sagemcom will be exhibiting both its XMediusFAX Cloud system, and its regular XMediusFAX offering, both allowing for the transmission of documents directly from Microsoft (News - Alert) Office products—sending documents from Word or spreadsheets from Excel and the like—but performing these tasks somewhat differently depending on the version used. As the name implies, XMediusFAX Cloud will use the cloud to perform its transfers, while the standard XMediusFAX will stick to an on-premise approach.

Being able to send documents directly from a Microsoft Office product in which the documents were created takes quite a few steps out of the larger overall process, which in turn allows for more to get done and, thanks to some redundancy dropped from the larger system, for some cost savings as well. Sagemcom will be showing off how that technology can offer its benefits, as well as giving potential users the chance to try out the system hands-on, which, for many, often provides the truest measure of potential value. 

Since Sagemcom has been offering IP fax server solutions backed by the T.38 Fax over IP protocol for over 10 years—since 2002—it's clear that the company has a substantial background in the field, and can offer the kind of experience that means a good chance at significant cost savings. Plus, Sagemcom's systems have recently been spotted passing a variety of interoperability tests, including those of both Broadsoft and Cisco (News - Alert), improving the likelihood that Sagemcom's offerings will easily work with products and services currently in place.

Sagemcom Canada General Manager Jean Champagne (News - Alert) offered a bit of commentary on the releases, saying that Sagemcom is “happy to help all types of organizations, with our reliable, secure, and scalable XMediusFAX On Premise and Cloud solutions.”
