By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor

Service providers seeking to offer their own branded fax offering while augmenting their core telephony services now have a new option, as Concord Technologies has released the latest version of its fax integration toolkit, Web Services API 4.0, with key automation capabilities.

As a provider of cloud-based, hosted fax services, Concord Technologies offers its customers Web Services Application Programming Interfaces (API) that cover three key areas: outbound fax delivery, inbound fax delivery and account management.

These APIs are designed to leverage the company’s geographically dispersed high-availability fax network, allowing developers to build fax integrations that meet business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.

According to Concord, many companies across the globe leverage Concord’s Fax Online Web Services API to tightly integrate fax into their backend applications, and automate their document-centric business processes.

In addition, many companies leverage Concord’s APIs and associated tools, as well as resources, to offer a rebranded fax service to their users. Similarly, independent software vendors utilize Concord’s APIs to embed fax capabilities into their applications.

With the help of the new Web Services API 4.0, customers and partners of Concord can reap more benefits with simple methods and enhanced capabilities to send and receive faxes, as well as to access the associated status information and billing and reporting data for individual faxes or groups of users.

In addition, Concord partners can utilize these Web Services APIs to integrate the provisioning, maintenance, reporting and billing functions into their own customer-facing portals and platforms.

Completely documented on Concord’s online developer portal, the latest version of Web Services API toolkit has been incorporated with many enhancements to enhance the APIs capabilities, to support fully automated account provisioning and phone number inventory management, while supporting pre-paid and post-paid billing methodologies.

It enhances the multi-tenanted hierarchical user model just as well.

Concord’s online developer portal includes best practice guidelines, extensive code samples and access to one-on-one support directly from the company’s development team.

John Harrison, SVP sales and marketing at Concord Technologies, said in a statement, "Concord has always focused on advancing our services to meet and exceed our customers’ business needs and expectations. With the release of Concord’s Web Services API 4.0, our partners are provided comprehensive support with resources, tools and personalized guidance to seamlessly integrate Concord Fax Online into their systems and processes.”

Harrison added, “Web Services API 4.0 also stands as a major milestone in our ongoing efforts to become the underlying technology provider for all service providers looking to offer their own branded fax offering to augment their core telephony services.”

Concord also recently expanded its International presence by offering fax online services to Australia, New Zealand and Israel.
