XMediusFAX Release 7 Offers Configurable Time Zone Feature for Large Enterprises
By Rich Steeves, TMCnet Web Editor
The larger an enterprise, the more complex its interactions become. If, for example, a business has offices located all over the world, it must adapt to the fact that different workers are operating in different time zones. This can affect meetings and conference calls, for example, but companies may not consider how this might affect fax communications. Fortunately, Sagemcom has considered the effect of multiple time zones on IP faxing and has included configurable time zone capabilities into the latest version of its XMediusFAX offering.
The configurable time zone feature of Release 7 of XMediusFAX enables clients whose system users are not all in the same time zone as the server to configure time coordinates that reflect their specific geographic location in relation to the server. Clients can configure or retrieve a time zone per user for the rasterization of cover sheets, fax headers and email notifications for each individual.
This new feature builds on the multi-tenancy functionality that has been part of previous editions of XMediusFAX. The multi-tenancy feature allows business to segment their fax networks into administrative islands to enable autonomy on a site-by-site basis. The multi-tenancy function is available on the Enterprise Edition of XMediusFAX, which supports up to 20 sites, and the Service Provider edition, which supports up to 500 sites. The SP edition is the cornerstone of XMediusFAX and is loaded with high-value features. This edition enables advance survivability, ranging from disaster recovery to remote branch survivability.
Within XMediusFAX Release 7, the configurable time zone feature is quite easy to use. The time zone setting can be altered for each user and each destination by selecting the proper location in a dropdown menu. This will set timestamps on fax cover sheets and fax headers for sent faxes, and the fax notification banner and mail notification body for all fax notifications received by email.
In addition, system administrators can set time zone values at the site level and can make time zone values part of the profile creation process. Also, the time zone is selectable from a drop down list in the mail, printer and folder destination property screens. The ease of use offers convenience for any company with offices that span the globe, showing yet another exciting innovation in Release 7 of XMediusFAX, which is due out in just a few weeks!
