Quadrant Releases QuadraDocV Fax over IP Solution
By Rich Steeves, TMCnet Managing Editor
While some people who are not as in tune with communications and technology might scoff at the announcement of a new fax solution, thinking that fax machines are remnants of the 1980s, Quadrant Software, a company that has been in the space for almost two decades, begs to differ. In fact, the company is about to release a new product, dubbed QuadraDocV, which is touted to be the industry’s only virtual Fax over IP product native to IBM (News - Alert) i AS400.
Woodard said that Quadrant’s software takes AS400 outputs and converts them to the correct format for faxing and document routing. This is different from email faxing, he said, and his company has been supporting the IBM i series for almost 20 years. In that time, Quadrant has focused on accuracy and the ability to transmit and receive anywhere, assuring that the end result always looks the way it should.
The QuadraDocV is designed for any company looking to virtualize its data center and reduce its carbon footprint. Woodard says that many companies have loved Quadrant’s FastFax solutions, and he said that QuadraDocV appeals to both Fortune 100 companies and small and medium-sized businesses.
As a company, Quadrant is proud of its 24/7 support structure. The support is U.S.-based and designed to stand behind this technology, which is founded on a current, leading platform, namely VMware.
QuadraDocV is scheduled to hit the market on April 17, but Woodard was ecstatic about how well beta testing has gone. One Massachusetts company, Tandus Flooring, was an important part of the beta testing, and the company found that the FoIP solution integrated seamlessly with its existing VoIP equipment and Tandus stated that it was pleased to work with a proven, trusted partner.
As for the future, Woodard stated that Quadrant will continue to focus on virtualization, exploring other platforms beyond VMware. While still maintaining its commitment to the IBM i series, Woodard hopes to build new partnerships and take on new and exciting initiatives in the Fax over IP space.
