Primus Business Services stated today that its SIP Trunking solution is now officially compatible with solutions from Avaya (News - Alert), a global provider of business collaboration and communication solutions. A leading provider of advanced communication solutions as well as a division of PTGi (Primus Telecommunications Group, Inc.), Primus is also pleased to serve as a Technology Partner in the Avaya DevConnect (News - Alert) program – a movement to develop, market, and sell third-party products that interoperate with Avaya technology to extend the value of a company’s network investments.
The Primus SIP trunking solution is now compliance-tested by Avaya for compatibility with Avaya IP Office 8.0, which will ultimately provide businesses with added value and functionality from their unified communications (UC).
This solution works as a powerful tool, ultimately enabling businesses to transition from traditional telephony products to VoIP. This solution is best fit for small- to medium-sized businesses (SMBs) who are currently invested in PBX (News - Alert) systems, yet need a customized telephony service to accommodate the scale and scope of a growing company.
Upon connecting to Primus’ managed cloud communications network via SIP trunking, these businesses will enjoy increased flexibility, reliability, and cost-savings.
“With SIP, businesses can quickly react to their evolving needs and benefit from innovative features such as built-in disaster recovery and built-in overflow,” a press release explains.
Eric Rossman (News - Alert), VP of Developer Relations for Avaya, explained the importance of this new development for businesses in this constantly growing and evolving technological age, saying, "With the support of Avaya Technology Partners like Primus Business Services, our customers are able to benefit from innovative cloud-based solutions that support their changing business needs. Primus' SIP Trunking solution provides a comprehensive and secure platform that works with Avaya's infrastructure to deliver high-quality, cost-effective communications."
Furthermore, as a Technology Partner, Primus is able to submit additional products for compliance testing via Avaya’s Interoperability and Test lab, where a team of Avaya engineers perform comprehensive tests for each application to determine its compatibility. This, the release explains, allows businesses to confidently add top-quality capabilities to their networks without needing to replace existing infrastructures. Doing so will also reduce both network complexity and implementation costs.
