Today’s customers demand connectivity everywhere, and across multiple platforms. Whether it’s through a voice or video call or text message, businesses must ensure that customers can reach them through whatever means, reliably and conveniently. This is the modern customer’s expectation, and with the latest push for rich communication services (RCS) and voice over LTE (News - Alert) (VoLTE) technology, that expectation is getting easier for businesses to meet.
This week, D2 Technologies, an embedded IP communications software platforms provider, is showcasing the native implementation of its latest mCUE 4G Mobile Software solution through demonstrations at AfricaCom. The mCUE 4G blends mobile channels into a unified native platform that could help revolutionize mobile VoIP for businesses and align with the GSMA (News - Alert)'s recently announced "Green Button Promise" standard. D2 will do so by bringing together IP-based communications like RCS, VoLTE, VoWiFi, and IR.94 video calling with traditional GSM CS and SMS communications.
"By emphasizing native support for RCS and VoLTE, we can ensure that mobile phone users are able to take full advantage of an optimized and richer communications experience that's built into the phone," said Doug Makishima (News - Alert), chief operating officer for D2 Technologies. "We're excited to be at AfricaCom and demonstrating our mCUE platform and emphasizing the global benefit of the Green Button Promise."
So what exactly is the Green Button Promise? As explained by the GSMA, the term “refers to an extension of the customer experience they enjoyed with mobile voice calls, historically initiated using a green call button on their device. Delivering the reach to contacts regardless of location and enjoying reliable communications in calls is expanded to cover the whole user experience of rich IP-based communications on different devices – messaging, RCS, video-based calling and VoLTE calls.”
In other words, the Green Button Promise is an assurance made by mobile communication operators to their customers, declaring that they are committed to providing the best possible service, regardless of the type of communication tool being used. This is “fundamental in regaining customer relevance against all the alternative OTT service offerings that are impacting the operator’s business today,” the GSMA stated. With solutions like D2 Technologies’ (News - Alert) mCUE 4G, offering such a service seems not only possible, but easy to accomplish today.
