Few industries have evolved to the same level as communications in the last decade. From changing consumer demands to the development of new innovations, we now have more power and access to information on a pocket device than we had on a desktop computer in the 1990s. As the number of users continues to grow and mobility dominates trends, the push for RCS VoLTE is increasing.
To that end, D2 Technologies (News - Alert) recently participated in a panel presentation offered at the Rich Communication Summit 2014. Chief operating officer Doug Makishima brought his expertise to “Is Original RCS ‘knee jerk’ Reaction for SMS Revenue Loss Now Fundamentally Changed?” This panel presentation included other key industry leaders who all discussed the relationship of WebRTC, RCS VoLTE and the convergence of all IP services, exploring whether or not objectives for RCS have been achieved.
Another key focus for the panel was the challenges of adoption for RCS VoLTE. Initial services based on RCS for consumers have not seen great success in terms of KPIs. Mobile operators had hoped for much better returns and services have been slower than expected to roll out and interconnect with current infrastructures. Makishima discussed how device and network APIs, as well as cloud-based services can provide additional customer value for users, while also speeding the deployment of RCS.
Beyond this expert insight, D2 Technologies also demonstrated the seamless combination of comprehensive VoLTE, RCS and video calling with the use of LTE and IMS infrastructure elements from Node-H and NewNet (News - Alert). The result is the delivery of the GSMA’s “Green Button Promise.” These rich-call and rich-messaging features are natively delivered in the mobile handset with the company’s mCUE 4G embedded software implements, creating the seamless user experience.
Fortunately, D2 Technologies is uniquely positioned to ensure customers successfully create and deploy mobile services and services that enable the highest possible quality experiences over LTE (News - Alert). The goal is to combine this with rich communications suite (RCS) capabilities in the market overall. With mCUE focused on the user experience, service providers can quickly get new products to market that satisfy customer demand for advanced rich communications capabilities.
Tight Android (News - Alert) system integration and optimization ensures mCUE 4G can enable the creation of economically sound products like media phones, tablets, smartphones and other devices designed to meet the dynamic needs within the market. As the quality of the experience will continue to be a key differentiator in the market, the demand for such rich communications among service providers will only continue to grow.
