D2 Technologies (News - Alert), a provider of embedded IP communications software platforms, has successfully completed interoperability testing for comprehensive rich communication services (RCS) with NewPace Technology Development, a provider of RCS products. As such, D2’s mCUE 4G IMS software client is now guaranteed to work properly with NewPace’s rcsConnect platform, together providing mobile network operators with complete RCS functionality as they transition from legacy voice services to LTE networks.
"We are excited to partner with D2 Technologies' research and development team to develop the next generation of RCS, while continuing to demonstrate to the market the interoperability of NewPace's technology," said Brent Newsome, president and CEO of NewPace, in a statement. "We are witnessing RCS interest continuing to grow from both telecoms and consumers — each looking for streamlined messaging systems that can provide them with a platform for much more."
NewPace’s rcsConnect family of solutions is a complete suite of RCS 5.1 compliant services, which include presence, instant messaging, group chat, file transfer, VoIP (IR.92), video calling (IR.94), inter-operator routing (IR.90), and network API solutions for mobile operators. The suite can be deployed inside a mobile operator’s network as an IMS application server, as a standalone application for those without IMS functionality, or as a hosted solution integrated within the operator’s network.
Meanwhile, D2’s mCUE 4G is an advanced IMS IP communications software solution for Android that supports IR.92 VoLTE, IR.94 video call and RCS (5.1 and joyn) GSMA (News - Alert) standards for the delivery of IP communications. What’s more, mCUE 4G is field proven to deliver carrier-grade voice and video quality, with demonstrated interoperability.
A complete communications client, mCUE 4G provides all key layers from the UI to the protocol stacks. It also boasts a fully embedded media engine that comes with a VoIP DSP module, providing wideband video codecs and optimized video framework integration that supports native hardware video acceleration.
"NewPace has become an industry leader based on its deep understanding of the benefits of rich communication as a platform that can enhance the end user experience and help operators remain competitive in the marketplace," said Doug Makishima (News - Alert), chief operating officer for D2 Technologies. "We look forward to leveraging the company's innovative technology to help bring RCS to the next level."
