Agama to Unveil DTV Monitoring Solution at IP&TV World Forum

By Chris Freeburn, TMCnet Web Editor

DTV quality assurance solution provider Agama Technologies will present its end-to-end quality assurance solution for over-the-top video services at IP&TV World Forum 2012 in London from March 20-22. The new quality monitoring solution delivers scalable, full-coverage video service assurance systems to telecommunications carriers and cable operators around the world. The DTV Monitoring Solution offers “fully concurrent and real-time quality monitoring of adaptive bitrate streaming TV services across the complete OTT distribution chain.”

By exploiting the conventional technique of delivering quality assurance through the monitoring of video quality during its complete journey from service provider to consumer media consumption device, Agama developed the DTV Monitoring Solution to assure the end-to-end distribution of OTT services. The solution permits quality monitoring of OTT services along with traditional IPTV (News - Alert), cable, hybrid satellite and DTH services. Easily deployable, the solution is scalable for TV operators migrating toward multi-screen delivery. The solution combines refined and role-based user interfaces with reporting and APIs for OSS/BSS integration. It aids key operator processes across multiple delivery platforms reducing operational costs and churn.

"OTT technologies represent a tremendous opportunity for operators to reach customers and support new ways of consuming media, such as “TV Everywhere.” At the same time it is more complex, introducing completely new requirements and challenges for ensuring the customer experience. Understanding the end-to-end service quality in these systems will be crucial for securing revenue streams, maintaining a satisfied customer base and enforcing SLAs," said Johan Görsjö, director of Product Management at Agama Technologies, in a company statement. "To reflect the real-world needs of these operators, we have evolved the Agama DTV Monitoring Solution in close collaboration with our customers who are now expanding their offerings with OTT services. As a result, we are excited to be able to offer the industry's only viable end-to-end quality assurance solution for all IP, Cable and OTT TV services that provides operators with insight into the service quality for each individual end-customer, regardless of distribution form and player device."

Agama has positionrf its DTV Monitoring Solution as a continuous and real-time quality monitoring and assurance solution for of all types of video delivery, from service creation to consumption. The company says that the solution offers extended support for multiple adaptive bitrate formats, including both AppleR HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) and MicrosoftR Silverlight Smooth Streaming. DTV can also be adapted to any OTT and multi-screen environment.
