Minuteman UPS/Para Systems (News - Alert)!

Okay, we’ll admit that supernatural hauntings, ghosts and towering marshmallow men are completely different than losing power – that is, unless you believe the rumors of the Super Bowl power outage last month. But just like all of the above rocked New York City and called for help in what became a powerful ghost removal service, businesses, residencies and more all need to be sure they have a powerful service to help them turn the lights back on when failures unexpectedly take over.

And we’re not kidding when we say that some pretty strange things can happen in your neighborhood to leave you abruptly in the dark. Take, for instance, a wild chicken that crossed the road…directly into a transformer in Maui that knocked out power in sections of the airport as well as its surrounding amenities. Or a cat that was doing just the same, which briefly caused an outage for an apartment complex in West Philadelphia.

Bottom line: these things happen – and they happen frequently.

Similarly, today’s businesses rely heavily on their communication tools to conduct interactions, connect with customers and collaborate with team members. Where they once relied on the traditional landline to conduct these communications, today’s businesses are also plugged into the network, communicating via smartphone, leveraging VoIP and engaging in video conferencing through Web connections. All of these tools are not only powerful, they also demand power protection.

Today’s telephone system and telecom applications demand robust power protection, as companies can’t afford for their systems to go down. Communications not only help companies maintain relationships, but they also offer a connection opportunity where one may not have existed otherwise. Now that most communications platforms are constantly connected in one way or another, the loss of power can render the organization completely out of touch.

Minuteman’s power product line comes complete with the tools companies need to protect their entire system. Included in this line are standby EnSpire series, surge protectors for non-critical components, line interactive Entrust (News - Alert), EnterprisePlus and PRO-E, PRO-RT UPSs to support small- to medium-sized phone systems. The enterprise-wide solution that may require multiple hours of runtime can specifically benefit from the Endeavor UPS line.

The surge protector offers eight 90 degree rotating outlets and four fixed outlets to enable users to connect multiple transformers. Power protection is provided to the fax, phone, modem or coax with this UL 1449 certified protector. For those companies who opt to leverage protection through this device, $200,000 equipment warranty protection is provided on all connected devices.

Meanwhile, Minuteman’s EnterprisePlus Line Interactive UPS offers an independent battery bypass, extended runtime capability with external battery packs and support from 750VA to 3000VA. Mounts are available in rack, tower and wall and communications supported include USB, DB-9 and SNMP. Both the 120V and the 208V models are available.

To ensure that every person – whether an IT guy or a stay-at-home mom – has power, it’s important to shore up on the equipment they invest in to avoid any type of power outage. Particularly for the business, Minuteman offers a full line of solutions to make sure that your communications – and ultimately business continuity – never stops.
