With tropical storms a brewing and looming 100-plus degree days about to threaten your trusty air conditioning system, now may be the best time to lend a thought or two to purchasing power protection units that can safeguard you against power outages and brownouts that are sure to creep up this summer.

Along those lines, Minuteman UPS/Para Systems (News - Alert), a provider of extensive power protection technologies, is ushering in the new season with its “Summer Savings” instant rebates, a June and July summer instant rebate program on some of the company’s leading power protection technologies.

“For June and July we are offering substantial rebates on two of our best-selling line interactive battery backup systems – the Entrust (News - Alert) and the PRO-RT Series,” Duston Nixon, marketing communications specialist for Minuteman, told TMCnet of why the company is offering this rebate program. “The savings available make these units, which are already a great value, an even better option for users looking to protect phone, security, and network systems of all sizes.”

According to Minuteman, consumers are encouraged to “kick-start” their vacation funds with savings on two “great” UPS series.

The first offering, the PRO-RT Series Rack/Tower UPS, offers automatic voltage regulation and versatile configuration options for a range of small to medium load applications. The power protection units also boasts: protection for security/phone/server systems from all power problem; rack/tower/wall configurations for ultimate versatility; eight total outlets (six battery backup/suge, two surge-only); LCD Status Display which shows power, UPS status; RS-232, USB, and optional SNMP communications; fax/phone/network line surge protection; and a three-year warranty or five-year extended warranty.

“The PRO-RT Series UPS represents the best value rackmount battery backup on the market. Features include an LCD status display, optional SNMP accessory slot, and the versatility of rack/tower/wall mounting options,” Nixon said. “PRO-RT also includes a phenomenal three-year parts and labor warranty that includes non-prorated battery coverage.”

In addition to offering rebates on its PRO-RT Series UPS, Minuteman is also discounting its Entrust Series Compact Tower UPS, which offers automatic voltage regulation and slim-line profile perfect for a range of small to medium load applications.

The unit boasts: a compact tower UPS with Automatic Voltage Regulation; 500-1500VA available; ideal for small loads to large security, network, servers; USB communications for monitoring and management via SentryPlus software; and three-year parts and labor warranty and a two-year battery.

“The Entrust provides automatic voltage regulation (AVR), and up to 1500VA of backup capacity, in an extremely compact tower form,” Nixon said. “These units measure only 3.4-inches wide, allowing them to be installed in even the tightest cabinets and closets.”

Last month, Minuteman had such success with its April instant rebates on the EnterprisePlus and Endeavor Series UPSs that the company decided to extend the April rebates all throughout May. The power protection company anticipates that its summer rebate program will be met with just as much success, particularly since downtime can increase exponentially during the summer months.

“As summer time comes into full swing across the country, it is certainly a time for business owners and administrators to evaluate their power protection plans,” Nixon said. “Along with the potential for storms, the rolling blackouts and other utility provider issues increase as temperatures climb. Last year’s record high temps brought about new challenges, and this year looks like it has the potential for more of the same, meaning it’s the perfect time to take advantage of these savings.”
