It might have been a little too early to put away the Christmas stockings and Hanukkah candles as one company is determined to continue to spread the holiday cheer even as we say goodbye to the 2011 holiday season.

Recently, Richard Gray’s Power Company, a provider of products and technical solutions for a safe, secure and enhanced environment, announced that its newly designed website now features its expanded product line of whole house power protection and data communications protection. The product line is divided into four categories: whole house and system self-healing surge protection and pre-emptive Lighting Shield; power purification featuring RGPC Classic Solutions to isolation and power delivery; latest UPS Uninterruptible Power Supplies with full communications capabilities; and protection of all communications cables and network infrastructure data networks.

The updated site also includes the list of RGPC product availability worldwide, available from authorized dealers in each country. The site promotes the company’s claim to offer the “finest power conditioners in the world” and also features a link to a live demo which shows the company’s ability to restore the sine wave and provide high current on demand to power hungry electronic gear. Visitors are encouraged to submit a list of their equipment so that the Richard Gray’s Power Company officials can provide system analysis to maximize performance and protection from power surges.

In other industry news, as the holidays quickly started to wind down, Minuteman UPS/Para Systems (News - Alert), a leading provider of power protection technologies, sat down with TMCnet to discuss how the harsh winter months can mean downtime for businesses and homes.

“As we move into the holidays, utility power providers must face two potentially severe threats: winter weather events and unusual usage patterns,” Duston Nixon, marketing communications specialist for Minuteman, told TMCnet when asked about the frequency of power outages during the holiday time. “As everyone is well aware, ice and snow bring down trees and power lines, and can leave widespread areas without electricity for days and even weeks as crews work to repair the damage. Likewise, travel and business closings create demands which are outside the norm, and can lead to rolling blackouts.”

“In cases like these, vital components such as communications and security systems should be backed up with a redundant system of extended runtime capable uninterruptible power supplies such as Minuteman's EnterprisePlus and Endeavor Series, working in combination with gas or diesel generators,” he added. “This redundancy eliminates what is known as a 'single point of failure', and will ensure continuous uptime even if problems occur with one of the backup systems.”
