Uninterruptible Power Supplies Ltd. (UPSL) has released the ultracompact PowerWAVE 5000/TP UPS system. Company officials said that the advanced 5000/TP has been designed to raise customers’ expectations for a UPS in this class by means of a combination of advanced technology and precision engineering.

Representing the next generation of efficient power protection products for UPS, PowerWAVE 5000/TP is the latest addition to the company's three-phase modular UPS range, according to company officials.

Justin Lucas, technical manager at UPSL, said that the company understands that downtime is simply not an option for our customers — continuous protection is essential — and in today’s dynamic IT environments, resilient and easily adaptable power protection concepts are vital.

The 5000/TP has these objectives at its core, and with up to 98 percent efficiency available in eco-mode, it represents the most efficient and technically advanced UPS the company has ever launched for this power range, Lucas said.

A member of UPSL’s PowerWAVE family, this newest offering has been designed specifically for low- to medium-density critical applications. Company officials said that it features several new innovations to deliver best key values such as enhanced power performance and energy efficiency, combined with both a small physical and carbon footprint.

In addition to online double conversion, up to 20 units parallelable, this product also features efficiency of up to 95.5 percent, efficiency in eco-mode at 98 percent, input distortion THDi of less than 3 percent, high input frequency tolerance (35 to 70 Hz), and more.

Moreover, PowerWAVE 5000/TP has been designed primarily for server rooms and data centers, and it is available in seven different power ratings: 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, and 50 kVA.

In addition, the all-in-one solution includes true online double conversion — VFI, or voltage frequency independent — a power distribution module, a manual maintenance bypass, a static thyristor bypass, intelligent battery management, and space for internal batteries to deliver complete protection in one box.

Last year, UPSL announced a partnership with Pure Power Systems based in Dublin, Ireland.
