Remote infrastructure management solutions are integral to ensure business continuity and deliver mission critical communications services. Remote desktop and out-of-band management solutions also help IT administrators remedy an issue without any downtime.
Out-of-band management and remote desktop monitoring products have never been so important to global enterprises that have offices and infrastructure located in different parts of the world. The industry is now looking for more power solutions.
One of the latest companies to expand the remote desktop monitoring solution is Devolutions. The company released Remote Desktop Manager (RDM) 8.3, which features over 80 improvements and enhancements.
The company has been expanding the RDM with innovative features designed to address the emerging requirements for remote desktop monitoring solutions. This is the third RDM release from Devolutions this year.
The latest version, 8.3 features support for new data source types (SFTP, FTPS, MariaDB) and a new Italian language option. The improved user interface comes with a Google (News - Alert) map and cell phone field in contact and simplified application password management. The remote desktop solution also includes Secret Server Windows authentication support and improved import connection framework offering support for Royal TSX and Terminals 3.0 file types.
Remote Desktop Manager is used by 200,000 IT pros and teams in over 90 countries to centralize their remote connections, passwords and credentials, according to company officials.
“We’d been hard at work developing RDM 8.3 for several weeks, but decided to hold off on releasing it until after we had a chance to meet members of our global community at Microsoft’s (News - Alert) TechEd earlier this month,” said Devolutions’ CEO and founder David Hervieux, in a statement. “And that turned out to be the right decision, because just as we’d hoped, we received some great suggestions that we integrated into the release.”
“Listening to our community, and making sure that we’re giving them practical tools that they can use to do more with less, has always been our focus,” Hervieux added. “We hope that we’ve delivered on that promise this time, and look forward to making RDM 9 even better!”
