Sangoma Technologies Corp., a provider of connectivity hardware and software for VoIP, TDM voice, WANs and Internet infrastructures, recently won a 2006 Innovation Award from TMC Labs for its A200/REMORA FXO/FXS Analog Telephony Support System.
When put together, Sangoma’s A200 and REMORA cards comprise a support system for analog voice traffic, capable of supporting as many as 24 FXO and/or FXS connections.
The system uses a single PCI slot host connection for all ports (ensuring synchronous clocking of channels). Because its base architecture is the same as in Sangoma’s A101 and A104 cards, the system offers 3.3v/5v PCI compatibility.
Sangoma’s system also features the following advantages:
- Field upgradeable
- Supports Sangoma’s echo cancellations and voice enhancement board
- Four RJ11/4 ports per REMORA card
- Supports Asterisk, OPAL, PBX/IVR project, and other gateway applications
- Small form factor (120mm x 55 mm)
- 2U compatible mounting clips included
- 32 bit bus master DMA deliver 132Mbyes/sec data exchanges across PCI interface
- Autosense compatibility with 5v and 3.3v PCI busses
- PCI 2.2 compliance
An optional kit is available for those who need to hardwire the A200 system (twenty-four RJ11/4 plugs and a crimping tool).
TMC Labs Innovation awards are given each year to honor IP communications products that are truly innovative.
“Sangoma deserves this great honor for creating a ground-breaking IP Communications product,” said Tom Keating, TMC Labs’ CTO, in a statement. “I look forward to seeing other innovative solutions from this company as it continues to contribute to the future of the VolP/IP telephony marketplace.”
