Open Source CRM Expands Further Into Europe

By Stefania Viscusi, Assignment Desk Editor

Open source CRM solutions provider, SugarCRM (News - Alert), has announced its bid to further capitalize on potential in the European market with the opening of a new corporate headquarters in Munich, Germany as well as a number of new customer wins and the expansion of its global training program in Europe.

After realizing the growing commercial demand for their open source CRM offerings in the continent, the company decided to open a new headquarters that would help it to meet the demands of customers who now include highly recognized European brand names like Fuji Film Spain, Loomis UK, Coca Cola France and Avis Scandinavia.

Also across Europe, SugarCRM has realized over 1,000 deployments of Sugar Professional and Sugar Enterprise this month, and has over 70 value added resellers and strategic implementation partners.

“While demand in Europe for our modern and flexible CRM platform has been steadily growing over the last several years, the recessionary economy has only increased activity and adoption,” said Liz Smith, vice president of sales, SugarCRM EMEA.

“SugarCRM and its strategic partners in Europe are well positioned to deliver the open and affordable solutions necessary to succeed across the European market.”

In addition to this, the company has also announced it will expand the training it provides in the continent to include 7 local languages so that customers and community members can take full advantage of all the features and capabilities of SugarCRM.

“We see the amazing market potential for SugarCRM and a bright future for commercial open source,” said Michael Wagner, partner at Weburi (News - Alert). “We are participating in the ALP because a successful CRM project requires good knowledge of the software, its abilities and a close relationship with the authors of the solution.”

Recently, the company made headlines with the beta release of Sugar 5.5. This latest update includes improved customization capabilities that will help users and developers more easily access their open source CRM software solutions and create and manage their specific CRM experiences.

In addition, an all new Web services framework as well as new platform improvements and enhanced mobile features have been included.
