The benefits of open source expand from cost savings and flexibility, to providing an alternative for proprietary applications.
With a commercial open source customer relationship management (CRM) solution, companies can better their customer relationships and business performance.
SugarCRM, a provider of open source CRM solutions has noticed the popularity of their offering as customers are increasingly buying into open source for its multiple deployment options and support for a number of platforms and databases.
Honoring their solution and continued contribution, Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) has nominated SugarCRM as a finalist for the 2007 CODiE Award.
Sugar4.5 was nominated for both the "Best Customer Relationship Management" and the "Best Open Source Solution" awards, a news release noted.
Because Open Source CRM provides application design flexibility and innovative user tools, users are able to customize solutions and build higher quality, more useful products based on their needs. This John Roberts, CEO and co-founder of SugarCRM notes in a news release, is a driving element of the increasing levels of adoptions as companies are finding the solution they build helps grow their business.
Roberts also commented in a statement to the press, "We are committed to bringing customers a best in class CRM system to ensure increased success in managing customer relationships. Through commercial open source development, we are able to evolve our platform more quickly and reliably than any proprietary CRM provider."
SugarCRM's Sugar 4.5 recently received a 2006 Product of the Year award from Customer Inter@action Solutions magazine.
