SugarCRM Names IBM WebSphere sMash Project of the Month

Open source CRM software provider SugarCRM, has announced the latest Web 2.0 offering from IBM (News - Alert), "WebSphere sMash Project," has been named "Project of the Month" on SugarForge.org.
 
IBM's WebSphere sMash, being used to enhance and extend the capabilities of SugarCRM (News - Alert), provides developers with a much easier way to build and run dynamic Web 2.0-based applications. The platform "simplifies the deployment of Web 2.0-based applications" by, "leveraging REST and dynamic scripting languages like Groovy, targeting the Java developer and PHP."
 
This will provide companies with more deployment options for SugarCRM in the enterprise and the ability to "interact with other applications through its end-to-end browser-based tooling and deployment framework."
 
“Project of the Month” recognition on SugarForge.org, the project is available for developers to download sample code, binaries and collaborate with other users worldwide.
 
“WebSphere sMash is a strong endorsement of the power and agility of dynamic Web applications such as SugarCRM in corporate environments," said Jacob Taylor, CTO and co-founder, SugarCRM.
 
“IBM’s commitment of their expertise and resources to this project will accelerate the adoption of PHP as a standard in the enterprise.”

Also this week, Zenoss, a vendor of commercial open source network, systems and applications management software announced that SugarCRM deployed Zenoss for Service Providers to monitor and manage its end-to-end SaaS (News - Alert) offering, including networks, servers and end-user application performance through synthetic transactions.
 
Intelestream, a consulting and software firm for SugarCRM also announced a new Time Tracking Module for SugarCRM that will allow managers and users to track time spent on completing tasks and projects.
