Multi protocol label switching (MPLS)-based solutions reduce total cost of ownership. They are growing in popularity for medium-to-large enterprises with multiple locations across a wide range of industries.
Henkel, a manufacturer of laundry, home care and beauty care and adhesive technologies, recently selected Ipanema (News - Alert) Technologies, a provider of WAN optimization solutions, to improve its hybrid network consisting of an MPLS infrastructure in order to guarantee end-user performance of its business critical applications around the globe.
Specifically, Henkel selected Ipanemato improve the experience of its 47,000 users worldwide. The WAN optimization solution not only helps the company manage the complexity of the growing number of users, but also helps to deliver new applications and systems crucial to ensure the best performance within products.
Henkel will be working with the company to help it support the use of standardized IT-based processes, consolidate and simplify the IT infrastructure, reduce operating costs and migrate applications to a unified private cloud. Ipanema has helped the company link 400 sites to its wide area network already.
Frank Meyer, technical project lead, Henkel, said the new network allows the company to cost effectively benefit from the best of MPLS and the Internet, and the objective-based application performance management strongly reduces complexity and helps the company to dynamically guarantee the applications’ performance to end-users anytime.
Further, the solution gives Henkel improved application visibility through a real-time application performance dashboard and drill-down reports, helping Henkel’s IT team to see and resolve network problems before they impact the end-user, so help desk calls are also greatly reduced.
“We have been working closely with Henkel to help the company deliver guaranteed performance to each user and support their strategic IT transformation to cloud computing and Unified Communications (News - Alert),” said Béatrice Piquer, vice president of Marketing for Ipanema Technologies, in a statement. “We’re proud to be able to support Henkel’s business objectives and provide a direct connection between application performance and their business requirements.”
