What do you think is the future of mobile? This is one industry that has evolved so quickly, it’s tough to keep pace with the latest innovations and anticipated outcomes. Often, before we even realize we want a capability, the manufacturer or carrier is making it available. One thing we did know we wanted was mobile VoIP, we just weren’t sure how it was going to arrive.

Skype (News - Alert) turned the mobile world on its ear with the arrival of voice and video communications over the Internet for the average consumer. Wireless carriers didn’t like the app eating into its revenue model and quickly blocked the service on supported mobile devices. But consumer demand is a powerful thing and we now can get mobile VoIP through a variety of platforms, not just Skype.

In fact, REVE Systems has developed a whole line of mobile VoIP solutions extended right to the user or as white label offerings services providers can use to shore up their portfolios. Plus, the company has earned a reputation for staying abreast of the latest trends and consumer demands, extending solutions that meet with current market need.

According to a recent Mobile Financial news report, the next wave that may demand attention is that of mobile messaging applications and the role they play in eCommerce. A growing number of solutions is being released in the global market and many of them have been designed with mobile payments in mind. The apps have the potential to make shopping more social, allowing users to share their recent purchases with those in their contact lists. (What a perk for the eCommerce site!)

The majority of these apps hitting the market appear to be responding to the demand from the consumer base that they want more than simple messaging. An app known as Line is coming to the Taiwan market, thanks to a partnership with Uitox, an eCommerce organization. Uitox plans to launch a mobile payments pilot program highlighting the use of Line, which currently bosts more than 420 million registered users throughout the world.

Much of Line’s success has been a result of its support of Flash Sales. It will have to compete with other powerful apps in this space, however, such as WeChat. Currently the largest messaging application, WeChat has also established itself as a mobile payments platform. Consumers are always on the lookout for the next best thing in mobile VoIP, however, giving apps like Line an opportunity to take more of the market share.

This is one area that is still exploding, creating much excitement in mobile markets. We anticipate companies like REVE Systems will be on the forefront with the right solutions to support successful apps in high demand.
