By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor

VoIP telecommunications provider, Telintel, has launched the Mytunu Network and a new application for iPhone and Android (News - Alert) as well as PC’s. The company claims it is set to transform the way consumers make and receive long-distance or international calls.

Telintel’s free Mytunu network will allow users to make and receive international calls to anywhere in the world. Users will also be able to receive calls using any version of the Mytunu app.

Those wishing to reach a Mytunu user can do so by using the same app or by calling a local access number in their city which is a free call for them.

Telintel notes that there are currently access numbers in over 39 countries and also registered users can establish Virtual Numbers in over 56 countries.

The company has included Social Integration through a unique "Contact Match" feature in the Mytunu app, which also boasts capabilities such as PIN Free dialing, Follow Me, Voicemail to Email, and more.

The "Contact Match" feature connects users to other friends on the Mytunu Network and facilitates “click to connect” access.

“The world has been waiting for an app that can bridge communities across countries, and this is it. Now friends and family overseas can stay in touch without having to pay for expensive long-distance international rates or roaming charges,” said Mario Acosta, Mytunu president.

“No other mobile VoIP provider can offer as many Virtual Numbers in as many countries for such low prices. Our dream is to make it easy and affordable to communicate overseas, and with the Mytunu app, our dream is becoming a reality.”
