Dialogic and FaxCore Providing Unified Communications Fax Solution
By Tim Gray
TMCnet Web Editor
As FaxCore’s (News - Alert) FoIP-in-a-Box and Dialogic’s Brooktrout SR140 Fax Software+ V.34 Fax Gateway continue to evolve in the industry – including both being recognized as 2008 Product of the Year Award winners from Technology Marketing Corporation’s Unified Communications (News - Alert) Magazine – the companies are creating more synergies between their technologies.
The combining of the only true 21st Century fax server application with Dialogic’s latest FoIP technology gives enterprises a fax solution for their unified communications needs, according to FaxCore President Tom Linhard.
FaxCore is a strategic partner of Dialogic and deployed the first commercial installation of the Brooktrout SR140 FoIP product.
The Denver-based FaxCore is also focusing on virtualization with new technologies like Dialogic/Brooktrout’s SR140 FoIP fax drivers. This is of particular importance since fax boards are not supported in virtual servers, so all-software solutions are required. The SR140 product line is perfect for a VM fax solution.
According to the companies, the SR140 + V.34 Fax Gateway (News - Alert) is the first Fax over IP endpoint and gateway combination supporting V.34 T.38. The SR140 and DMG3000/DMG4000 platforms support real-time FoIP, providing companies with the ability to integrate fax servers into the VoIP network. The addition of V.34 T.38 allows fax data to be transmitted at 33.6 kbps, more than doubling the rate of other industry offerings, which transmit fax traffic over T.38 at a maximum of 14.4 kbps.
"Dialogic has proven that it is committed to quality and excellence, while addressing real needs in the marketplace, and we're proud to honor the company's accomplishments," Rich Tehrani, TMC (News - Alert) president and Editor-in-Chief of Unified Communications magazine, said of Dialogic’s recent Product of the Year award.
FaxCore is a provider of fax server automation solutions for enterprise organizations, telecoms, SaaS and specialized ASP providers. FaxCore was also the first Dialogic Brooktrout partner to deploy SR140 Fax Software so the bundled solution combines industry-leading technology with proven reliability.
As TMCnet recently reported, building on the FaxCore product line – a versatile solution designed for the fax server industry that is capable of operating on analog, digital or FoIP solutions – FoIP-in-a-Box provides an easy to deploy solution for migrating fax transmissions to an IP-based network.
“By combining FaxCore 2007 the only true 21st Century fax server application with Dialogic’s latest FoIP technology, enterprises can now include fax as a unified communications component with a product that is simple to deploy, simple to use and perfect for migrating fax transmissions to an IP-based network,” said Linhard.
FaxCore and Dialogic said they are continuing their collaborative effort by leading the communications industry into the future with the FoIP-in-a-Box (FoIPBOX) product line, according to the companies. The Mini-FoIPBOX from FaxCore allows enterprises to scale from two to eight fax channels and up to 60 channels with the SuperFoIPBOX FoIPBOX appliances shipping fully assembled and ready for remote on-site installation with standard support and maintenance included. Enterprises can now implement fax solutions that are simple to deploy, simple to use and cost-effective in today’s challenging business climate. An added bonus is that these bundles are Green solutions so they help companies conserve precious resources plus help the environment.
FaxCore’s new Mini-Appliance product line is a complete fax server bundle richly deserving of the 2008 award. The bundle includes:
