NMS Communications, a provider of applications and platforms for development and deployment of value-added services (VAS) on mobile and converged networks, has announced a new partnership with Atlantic Convergence (News - Alert).

 

As per the agreement, Atlantic Convergence will sell NMS media processing boards, gateways, servers and software to application developers and VAS providers throughout the country.

 

Using these products, application developers can develop a range of services including video SMS that features video avatars, which “talk” with a subscriber’s own voice, said NMS.

 

Atlantic Convergence enables mobile operators in South Africa and nearby countries to create converged mobile technologies including text, audio, graphics, animation and
video services for Global System for Mobilecommunications (GSM) and third generation (3G) networks. The partnership with Atlantic Convergence helps NMS to provide new voice and video services to customers in South Africa.

 

NMS recently created the NMS Partner Network, a new partner program aimed at enhancing new product innovation, broadening efficient support services to customers and growing its global sales channel. It is a community of technology and channel partners working together to further the development and adoption of both traditional and new value-added services such as voicemail, audio conferencing, self-service speech automation interactive voice response (IVR) systems, ringback tones, voice SMS, and interactive mobile video.
