Elemental Technologies’ new Elemental Stream is a video processing system that can segment, process and secure live and on-demand content for multiscreen delivery, and at the same time help users realize quicker monetization and ROI for distributing the content.
Elemental reportedly builds innovative video processing and compression software that harnesses the power of massively parallel, off-the-shelf hardware architectures. Its technology is designed to run on the fastest available general purpose microprocessors, high-performance hybrid processors and discrete graphics processing units (GPU).
The new Elemental Stream is based on its video processing technology and allows for customization of video at the optimal point in the IP video delivery infrastructure. The system can be positioned at the central encoding location or as an integral part of the content delivery infrastructure, making it well-suited for Pay-TV operators, Content Delivery Networks (CDN), broadcasters and content owners.
Users can employ the Elemental Stream to stream multi-bit rate video across a CDN with less bandwidth, and without re-encoding they can manage content preparation at the edge of the network. Elemental Stream lowers costs for IP video delivery and is perfectly suited to enhance traditional and over-the-top video infrastructures with its ability to customize content separately from the core encoding process and potentially later in the content delivery infrastructure.
With Elemental Stream, Elemental is reportedly building on its recent success in the video processing industry to offer a more comprehensive solution in a rapidly expanding market, in which service providers and programmers need technologies to efficiently manage and deliver an increasing volume of multiscreen content.
“With Elemental Stream, we are responding to the industry’s need for a video processing system that lowers costs for IP video delivery by customizing content separately from the core encoding process,” said Keith Wymbs, VP marketing at Elemental Technologies. “With this product our customers can experience the advantages of close integration with Elemental Live and Server as well as our unified management system Elemental Conductor.”
