Provider of conferencing and collaboration services, InterCall, a subsidiary of West Corp. (News - Alert), has announced the release of upgrades to its mobile application portfolio, Virtual Events, for the Apple iPad.

The company’s Virtual Events provide increased pipeline for marketing, extended branding, more engaged audience, lower production cost, wider geographic reach, always-on education and communication, and more.

Virtual Events for Apple (News - Alert) iPad provide attendees with multi-content views, enabling viewers to see video, slides and interactive features on a single screen.

In addition to streaming content, the new InterCall (News - Alert) mobile app now fully supports the interactive features in webcasts and virtual environments.  It will also take advantage of the native navigation features of the iPad, such as scrolling and pinch zooming, according to company officials.

This latest offering offers all the functionality of the company’s desktop webcasting and virtual environment products, and even retains the branding and customization, so mobile users achieve the same experience they would expect on a wired connection in the office, said Mike Nessler, executive vice president of Event Services at InterCall.

To webcasting users, InterCall Virtual Events for iPad provide secure login, automatic bandwidth detection and adjustment, the ability to participate in polls and view results in real time, and full access to live text Q&A sessions.

With InterCall Virtual Events for iPad, virtual environment users can navigate fully and easily through the environment and view live and on-demand webcasts. They can also interact with other visitors in the networking lounge, chat with booth reps, participate in discussion forums, as well as all on-demand content.

Available through the Apple App Store, Virtual Events for iPad works on all versions of the iPad running iOS 4.3 and above and it is compatible with Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G connections.

Recently, InterCall announced the launch of a new online community for small business leaders.
