Two regional offices have been opened by Telcordia in Maryland. The top global company in the development of mobile, broadband and enterprise software and services, Telcordia (News - Alert) will be able to better serve its growing government businesses through these new offices. These services are provided to communications service providers, suppliers and governments. The company also has a long established track record of innovation and technology expertise within its government business.
One of the new offices will be opened in Aberdeen (News - Alert), MD. The other office will be at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County's bwtech@UMBC Research and Technology Park. The company already has an office in Washington, D.C. Telcoridia’s presence will be further solidified with the new offices.
The Army's research, development and engineering command or RDECom will be supported by the Aberdeen office. A deeper scope of tactical and strategic communications support will be delivered by this office.
Telcordia's development of extensive tools will be amplified with the office at bwtech@UMBC Research and Technology Park. Cyber security and critical infrastructure protection will be addressed with these tools. This office will also collaborate with UMBC personnel and resources.
In a release, Brent Greene, president of advanced technology solutions at Telcordia said, "Telcordia's government work, particularly in the Federal sector, is a critical and growing part of our business. This expanded presence in the Capitol area will enable us to more directly serve our Federal clients and their increasingly complex communications and security challenges."
Telcordia offers advanced research and services as part of its rich communications expertise. Critical infrastructure protection, cyber integration, advanced cyber security, and emergency preparedness are addressed by these services. The nation's telecoms infrastructure and security is therefore strengthened.
In related news, Telcordia announced that James "Jim" F. X. Payne, senior vice president/general manager of National Security and Cyber Infrastructure, was named to the prestigious AFCEA International Cyber Committee for a three-year term. AFCEA International is a non-profit association serving the military, government, industry and academia to advance professional knowledge and relationships in the fields of communications, IT, intelligence and global security. The Cyber Committee coordinates the organization's outreach to the cyber community, collaborating with the private and public sectors.
