Videophone and digital-voice and videophone service provider WorldGate has announced that ACN, a direct provider of telecommunication services which operates in 20 countries worldwide, has issued WorldGate an official notice of certification and technical acceptance for WorldGate’s Ojo Vision digital video phone. ACN is to sell the Ojo Vision phone through its dealer networks as the IRIS V.
This formal notice of certification and acceptance from ACN is the significant final step in a series of procedures that needed to be accomplished before ACN can purchase 300,000 Ojo Vision videophones from WorldGate and sell them to its customers on an OEM basis. ACN signed an agreement in April 2009 to buy a minimum of 300,000 Ojo Vision phones and market and sell them to buyers via its independent sales agent network.
In the last quarter, ACN was shipped more than $7.8 million worth of Ojo Vision phones from WorldGate under the conditions of the aforementioned contract, and, in addition, thousands more units were ordered and shipped on a monthly basis. The Ojo Vision videophones needed to achieve several significant requirements before sales could take place, one of which was to successfully hurdle ACN’s formal technical acceptance procedures.
Allan Van Buhler, senior vice president of sales and marketing for WorldGate, said that the company has always and will always aim to enrich its clients’ lives through the successful delivery of its cutting-edge videophone communications products and services.
To this end, Van Buhler said, ACN is WorldGate’s true collaborator and partner, as it has had a significant role to play as regards the development and testing of WorldGate’s Ojo Vision videophone. ACN’s announcement that the Ojo Vision has successfully passed its stringent technical acceptance procedures, added Van Buhler, has helped bring WorldGate one step closer to realizing its overarching vision for people the world over.
