Over the last few years, advances in telecommunications technologies have enabled enterprises to communicate with their customers through a variety of different mediums – whether their employees are in the office or on-the-go. The difficulty that many companies face, however, is that their staff is often forced to utilize multiple devices and a myriad of applications to stay in contact with their customer base.
On a typical day, employees will use their cell phone, their office phone, email, instant messenger and a number of other communication methods to correspond with clients and with each other.
In an effort to help simplify this process and minimize the expense that is associated with connectivity over multiple networks, MobileMax has introduced an enterprise edition of its Fixed Mobile Convergence (News - Alert) (FMC) solution, which allows companies to extend their real-time communication functionality to the mobile devices of their workforce.
By implementing MobileMax’s (News - Alert) software, enterprises can seamlessly integrate their in-office communications mediums into a unified mobile solution. The software application enables employees to have a single phone number (for both inbound and outbound calls), one voice mailbox and simultaneous ringing on both office and mobile phones.
The enterprise edition also offers a mid-call PBX (News - Alert) feature menu, which allows users to redial, hold, conference, forward and record calls directly from their mobile device. It also provides call waiting, VoIP mobile and convenient short-code dialing to other enterprise extensions. Users can instant message their contacts and identify their presence status, all while having push-to-dial capabilities. These features give employees the ability to have all their office tools at their disposal while they are on-the-go.
Furthermore, MobileMax’s VoIP solution gives a mobile phone the capability of automatically jumping from WiFi (News - Alert)/WiMax to a 3G, 2G or GPRS network, which can significantly lower costs. The company’s comprehensive provisioning tool can generate applications into existing infrastructure without interrupting an enterprise’s day-to-day operations.
Currently, MobileMax’s Fixed Mobile Convergence solution works with more than 1,000 mobile phones, including Blackberry, iPhone, Android and Nokia (News - Alert) models.
