Managed mobility service provider MOBI Wireless Management has entered into a Tech Alliance partnership with MobileIron, a mobile-centric security and management company, which includes “robust technology integration.” In particular, the companies are aiming to optimize how enterprises manage their mobile estates by combining wireless carrier data and corporate HR data, as centralized by MOBI, with the mobile device and app control and visibility offered by MobileIron’s enterprise mobility management platform.

The overall result of this integration should allow enterprises to unlock greater security, control and efficiency when managing corporate or employee devices accessing corporate systems and data.

As such, MOBI and MobileIron are tapping into several critical areas for businesses today, especially by supporting employee-owned, or BYOD, smartphones and tablets. This isn’t surprising, though, since both companies have had BYOD-focused solutions available for a while now, such as MOBI’s BYOD Advisory Service.

“Through this partnership and integration between MOBI and MobileIron, organizations can now capitalize on the synergies created from the combination of Managed Mobility Services (MMS) and Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM),” said Mitch Black, president of MOBI, in a statement. “These two practices have always been closely related and consumed in tandem, but technology advancements, like our integration with MobileIron, are making the relationship more symbiotic than ever.”

The MOBI-MobileIron partnership optimizes enterprise mobility management through the use of added technology. Key advantages of this include allowing organizations to use mobile device management and mobile application management features like wiping, locking and locating a device from within MOBI’s platform. These added controls are delivered on top of MOBI’s cloud software, which centralizes mobile management by integrating with wireless carriers and IT systems.

Furthermore, the MOBI team can now help organizations achieve an accurate MobileIron configuration based on their needs. This even extends to post-setup and installation to encompass daily operation, administration, monthly optimizations and more.
