MobileIron, a provider of mobile device management and mobile security management solutions, helps organizations embrace mobility without having to worrying about comprising the security of their enterprise infrastructure. With its robust suite in place, companies can reduce costs while increasing productivity amongst employees, and that is one of the primary reasons it has recently been nominated for GSMA's (News - Alert) 2013 Annual Global Mobile Awards in the Best Enterprise Mobile Service category for MobileIron Version 5 Complete Enterprise.
Designed specifically for today’s bring your own device (BYOD) environment, MobileIron V5 delivers the first complete enterprise persona for managing and securing mobile apps and content, company officials said.
The increasing use of mobility in IT has forced employees to flip between enterprise and personal screens on their device. Use of third party applications for e-mails and chat have also become common practice, affecting efficiency but also creating security risks in enterprises.
Thanks to MobileIron V5, companies can remain fully protected while bringing the overall user experience to an unparalleled level. In fact, the intuitive offering introduces three new functionalities to help organizations such as Docs@Work, AppConnect, and AppTunnel. These features containerize apps, documents, e-mail attachments, and SharePoint to provide data loss prevention (DLP) controls while preserving the native experience.
“Mobile has become a primary computing platform, and we see our customers becoming Mobile First organizations that are focused on the seamless delivery of apps, content, and tools," said Bob Tinker, CEO, MobileIron, in a statement.
"In a Mobile First company, experience is centered on end-users, not on devices, and security has to be invisible,” Tinker added. “MobileIron V5 delivers the first complete multi-OS enterprise persona, separating personal and professional apps and content while preserving the native mobile user experience."
MobileIron recently reported it witnessed tremendous growth in 2012 in terms of the number of seats sold and customer acquisitions. It has nearly tripled the number of seats in 2012 compared to 2011, added more than 700 enterprise customers per quarter, and won over 1,400 add-on orders.
