Recently, Metropolitan Telecommunications (MetTel (News - Alert)) revealed it now selling packaged mobile device management solutions from AirWatch (News - Alert).
MetTel offers mobile device management at no extra cost with certain MetTel wireless service packages. According to company officials, the savings from bundled MDM alone can amount to as much at $1,000 a month for a company with a mobile workforce of at least 200.
"Corporate IT managers are facing new mobile device management challenges as companies convert from BlackBerry (News - Alert) handsets to iPhones and smartphones," said Max Silber, MetTel's director of wireless services, in a statement. "MetTel's wireless services provide an economical and effective alternative to companies looking to save on their wireless service and to maintain a high level of security and control over all their mobile devices, including those owned by employees (BYOD).”
AirWatch’s solution portfolio for BYOD comprises Mobile Device Management (MDM), Mobile Security Management (MSM), Mobile Application Management (MAM), Mobile Content Management (MCM), and Mobile E-mail Management (MEM).
MetTel MDM, powered by AirWatch, allows businesses to quickly enroll devices, configure and update device settings over-the-air, enforce security policies and compliance, secure mobile access to corporate resources, and remotely lock and wipe managed devices. The MetTel MDM solution is available across all wireless networks, operating systems and devices.
Businesses can opt for various nationwide options and packages that make it simple for businesses to save on mobile services. MetTel’s end-to-end mobile life cycle management provides everything from technology alignment and rate plan optimization to device recycling.
The company also powers a unified communications solution, MetTel Mobile Integration, which converges wireline and wireless phones to give employees a uniform experience inside and outside the office as well as MetTel Wireless Backup, a fixed wireless solution that ensures that data traffic is automatically redirected to a secure, reliable wireless network when primary circuits fail.
"At MetTel our word is our bond. We keep our promise to provide customers with a simple, secure and manageable platform to unify wireless and wireline services within their IT infrastructures," MetTel CEO Marshall Aronow concluded. "Our MetOne Portal is the secret sauce that brings together every product and service, from every carrier for every size customer, and enables clients to manage expenditures from one simple, easy to use interface."
