MobileIron, a provider of mobile device management solutions, has just revealed it is offering Mobile Device Management (MDM) Bootcamp certification to BlackBerry (News - Alert) Exchange Server administrators.
This is the first such announcement wherein MobileIron University is offering its courses to a broader community.
“There has been a huge shift in how companies view mobile. What used to be exclusive, BlackBerrys for executives, is now democratic, mobile apps and devices for everyone,” said Bob Tinker, CEO at MobileIron. “Companies are going multi-OS and the BlackBerry footprint is shrinking. By opening MobileIron University to BES admins, we are giving everyone the opportunity to learn the skills that will make them a critical part of the new Mobile IT industry.”
Unveiled last year, MobileIron University was created to provide training and certification for mobile IT professionals. It offers customers a self-guided environment in which they can receive technical training and develop the practical business process skills needed to become mobile IT leaders for their companies.
Upon graduating from the university, mobile IT professionals will be qualified to power successful global mobile deployments. MobileIron University is the industry’s first training and certification center for mobile IT professionals.
MobileIron University provides technical training on core mobile IT functions and programs from using certificates and delivering mobile apps, to implementing a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program. It will also cover all aspects of mobile device management and enterprise controls and security.
Some of the topics covered under this program include: working with LDAP and local users, registering devices, policies, enterprise apps and app control, certificates and Exchange ActiveSync.
The mobile device management (MDM) Bootcamp is available on-demand, so BES administrators can complete the training and take the exam at their own pace.
