MobileIron, a provider of robust mobile device management solutions, recently teamed up with HTC (News - Alert) Corporation, a global leader in mobile innovation and design, in order to power an integrated, standardized enterprise mobility solution for global customers.

In a press release, Bob Tinker, CEO, MobileIron, said, "Android (News - Alert) has faced barriers to entry in the enterprise because customers need to know that they can manage and secure Android apps and devices without needing additional resources. By working with HTC, we are making it easy for our global customers to welcome a whole category of Android devices into their companies."

The solution will be powered through HTCPro, a program that offers mobile solutions for companies and their employees and ensures that HTC's entire portfolio is business-ready.

"Many organizations already allow employees to access corporate systems and information through personally-owned, corporate-approved mobile devices. To mitigate security risks and minimize IT administration, however, they need a Bring Your Own Device program that balances corporate security with user choice," David Jaeger, executive director of global enterprise and services for HTC and head of HTCpro added.

He further commented: "MobileIron software, used in conjunction with HTC devices, gives customers an out of the box solution that delivers enterprise-grade security enhancements and is easy to manage, enabling them to implement a 'BYOD by HTC' policy."

The combination of HTC devices and MobileIron software offers IT departments access o the essential enterprise features to increase security in a mobile working environment. Some of these capabilities include remote lock/wipe, remote email configuration, remote VPN and Wi-Fi configuration, certificates store and secure app provisioning.

Touted as a company with a large MDM portfolio, MobileIron has been positioned in the Leaders Quadrant of Gartner, Inc.'s Magic Quadrant for Mobile Device Management Software.

And last year, the MobileIron Virtual Smartphone Platform from AT&T (News - Alert) was awarded the 2011 Global Telecoms Business Innovation award for Business Services Innovation.
