Mobile Device Management Provider Unveils Training and Certification for Mobile IT Professionals

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

MobileIron, a provider of mobile device management solutions has launched MobileIron University, which has been created to provide training and certification for mobile IT professionals.

MobileIron University will offer its customers a self-guided environment in which they can receive technical training and develop the practical business process skills needed to become mobile IT leaders for their companies.

Upon graduating from the university, mobile IT professionals will be qualified to power successful global mobile deployments for their companies, company officials revealed in a press release.

In addition, the university will also teach mobile IT professionals about all aspects of mobile device management including application delivery, authentication, authorization, certificate delivery, enterprise controls and security. The training also includes a guide on how to utilize the MobileIron platform.

The MobileIron Virtual Smartphone Platform and the MobileIron Connected Cloud are the industry’s first mobile device management solutions that give IT and users real-time intelligence and control over mobile content, activity, and apps.

Through leveraging these mobile device management solutions, customers can secure their mobile assets, reduce wireless costs, and improve the overall mobile user experience.

Moreover, MobileIron University offers set curricula, such as the MDM Bootcamp, which includes 17 courses, as well as individual courses. MobileIron University classes are available globally, both in real-time and on-demand, and are also open to partners. MobileIron University has been piloted by more than 500 users.

The university’s on-demand courses are offered in a highly personalized format, allowing the learner to engage, at their convenience, from work or home at any time. After the course work has been completed, customers and partners then are required to take a test to earn their certification.

“We have been piloting MobileIron University for a couple of months, and the positive response has been overwhelming,” said Bob Tinker, CEO, MobileIron, in a statement. “Enterprise mobility is an incredibly fast-paced industry. Training and keeping up with new technologies is essential, but there has been nowhere to go to get this knowledge.”

“With MobileIron University, we have built a way to quickly deliver the latest training. What is really significant about our training is that it covers a lot more than just MobileIron. This is about building Mobile IT expertise,” Tinker added.

Recently, TMCnet reported that MobileIron launched MobileIron 4.5, designed to provide the highest level of security on the largest amount of Android (News - Alert) devices currently on the market.
