Sorenson ntouch Now Supports HTC myTouch 4G and the HTC Thunderbolt

By Rajani Baburajan, TMCnet Contributor

Sorenson Communications, a leading provider of Video Relay Service (VRS) for deaf and hard-of-hearing people who use sign language to communicate, announced its “ntouch Mobile” mobile communications app now supports HTC (News - Alert) myTouch 4G and the HTC Thunderbolt Android devices.

ntouch Mobile allows deaf and hard-of-hearing people to communicate with ease.

“The ntouch Mobile app turns an Android (News - Alert) device with a forward-facing camera, such as the myTouch 4G and Thunderbolt, into portable videophones, providing mobile deaf-communication capability for VRS or point-to-point calling,” according to company officials.

Earlier the company also announced support for two Android devices, the HTC Evo and the Nexus S.

"We continue to add support for new devices to provide mobile communication for as many deaf and hard-of-hearing people as possible," said Ricky Simmons, Sorenson product manager, in a statement. "Sorenson will continue to add many more communication options for our customers in the coming months."

Sorenson Communicationslaunched  ntouch Mobile in February this year. Simultaneously the company also announced the launch of ntouch PC. Like ntouch Mobile, ntouch PC enhances VRS and point-to-point calling options when combined with the Sorenson videophone.

With ntouch PC, deaf VRS users can turn their PCs into video players, allowing them to use SVRS at home, at work or on the go. ntouch PC works anywhere there is a high-speed Internet or Wi-Fi connection and is business and home network-friendly, company officials said.

ntouch PC includes popular features of the Sorenson videophone, such as the Sorenson Video Center with SignMail, Call History and E911. ntouch PC also introduces new features that allow users to search Contacts and import their VP-200 Contacts list.
