It’s a well-documented fact that women in technology have never had an easy time of breaking through a number of barriers. Whether it’s overt neglect in promotions and recognition, or the more subtle forms of discrimination that work against them, women have had to fight for every inch gained.
So it’s a victory made all the more sweet for Christina Curtis, Director of Partner Sales at Telarus (News - Alert), who was just named to the board of Women in the Channel (WiC), a grassroots organization made up of women in leadership and revenue-generating roles in the channel sector of the telecom industry. Curtis is the first person at Telarus to be chosen for this exclusive role.
“I am honored and thrilled to be a board member of Women in the Channel,” said Curtis on hearing of the honor. “Collaborating with exceptional women who are industry and community leaders is a unique opportunity that I graciously embrace.”
Women in the Channel was established in 2010 with three areas of focus: To unify and help women advance their own businesses through networking, partnering and professional development in the rapidly expanding telecom industry; To support each other as women both in the industry and at home and; To attract and mentor young women into the channel.
“Telarus has been an active and consistent supporter of WiC since the very beginning of the group,” noted Hilary Gadda, Board Member and Committee Chair at Women in the Channel. “The entire Board of WiC is delighted to now have Christina Curtis joining us. Her contributions within the organization to date have been tremendous and we look forward to her leadership and vision in mapping out our future.”
Telarus, Inc. is a value-added distributor that solution providers, VARs, and MSPs turn to for innovation. As part of its joint collaboration efforts, WiC has held special networking receptions at the annual Telarus Partner Summit event in Deer Valley, UT for two consecutive years.
