Checkpoint Systems is a provider of merchandise availability solutions for the retail industry. Retailers using Checkpoint solutions encompassing loss prevention and merchandise visibility can achieve accurate real-time inventory; accelerate the replenishment cycle; prevent out-of-stocks and reduce theft; and eventually improve merchandise availability and the shopper's experience.

Recently, the company announced that it had signed a Master Distributor agreement with Halo Metrics to support Canadian retailers. Halo Metrics is a top source for Canadian retailers seeking merchandising and loss prevention solutions.

"Halo Metrics has been an outstanding partner with our Alpha division since 2001. They have earned the trust and respect of retail loss prevention professionals with their knowledge and commitment to customer service,” said Dan Reynolds, vice president of sales for Checkpoint Systems. “We are excited to expand our relationship for the benefit of the Canadian retailers.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Halo Metrics will actively market, sell, install and service Checkpoint's electronic article surveillance (EAS) product portfolio for all retailers in the Canadian market that are not currently part of Checkpoint's national account program.

Checkpoint will continue to directly support its Canadian national accounts on a direct basis through its sales and customer Merchandise Availability team offices in Markham and Winnipeg.

"Our focus is to balance the retailer's loss prevention efforts with the honest shopper's need for easy access to merchandise on display" said Cheryl Gillott, president of Halo Metrics.

"The new agreement with Checkpoint enables Halo to offer our retail customers more of a complete security solution. We are very pleased to deepen our Checkpoint relationship with the signing of this Master Distribution Agreement," added Gillott.

Checkpoint recently announced RFID-based EAS Overhead 2.0, which delivers improved inventory visibility and loss prevention benefits at the point-of-exit. Overhead 2.0 is a key component of an integrated solution which serves as an EAS system that alarms and identifies stolen merchandise, improving operations at the point-of-exit while enhancing the customer shopping experience by helping to ensure merchandise availability.
