Master agents benefit significantly when their carriers remain on the edge of innovation and continuously enhance their portfolio. With that being said, you can probably imagine a mighty big smile upon the faces of Telarus employees right about now with the news of Windstream (News - Alert) expanding its carrier switched Ethernet throughout the United States making headlines across the country.

Windstream is touted as a facilities-based CLEC and ILEC that enables its customer base to gain access to a wide array of next generation communications, ranging from cloud computing and managed services to broadband, phone and digital TV services. Raking it an estimated $6 billion in revenue each year, it is clear the company is doing something – or many things – right according to its customers and partners alike.

“By expanding our Carrier Switched Ethernet solution, our customers now have a broader ability to reach businesses with dependable Ethernet access," said Don Perkins, Windstream senior vice president of Business Marketing, in a statement. "Ethernet expansion represents continued network and product integration, resulting in greater efficiency, consistency, and reliability for many organizations. This growth further positions Windstream as a key service provider in the carrier Ethernet industry.”

By leveraging this solution, carriers can power additional multi-location data solutions for a reduced price. Customers located in big cities including New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Chicago, Houston, Dallas, Denver and Phoenix can see many advantages with interconnect ports of 100 Mbps, one Gbps, and 10 Gbps readily available, as well as end-user loops from three Mbps to one Gbps being fully supported.

Austin Holverson, marketing manager, Telarus (News - Alert), Inc. added in an exclusive interview with TMCnet, “This expansion will play a huge role in our continued success with Windstream. The fact that the company continually invests resources into the network will allow partners who sell data, voice, and cloud solutions to reach out and close even more opportunities."

In fact, wholesale providers can fully personalize this growing portfolio to the exact needs of the customer, significantly ramping up the speed of bandwidth intensive content being sent.

It seems as if this strategic alliance between the master agency and Winstream is mutually beneficial, since Telarus was highlighted as the top producing distributor of Windstream in 2012. This is actually the sixth time in a row the company was bestowed this honor; however, it is the first time it was presented with the high ranking since the facilities-based CLEC and ILEC acquired PAETEC (News - Alert).
