With many nicknames including “Chi-Town,” the “Second City” and “The Windy City,” Chicago is known for a lot more than just its deep dish pizza and Oprah. In fact, back in February Telecom Brokerage (News - Alert) Inc., a well-known master agent within the telecommunications industry, outgrew its old location and moved into a new state-of-the-art office situated in the Cumberland Metro Office Park which is conveniently right near the O’Hare Airport.

With two conference rooms, 10 executive offices and much bigger areas for TBI’s back office and channel support teams, TBI President Geoff Shepstone commented in regards to the relocation, “Moving into our new office space is a continuation of TBI’s 20-year history of growth. We are forecasting further growth in the future at a faster rate than we have experienced in the past.”

In conjunction with moving into the new office, the master agent will be holding a grand opening on May 17 from 12 to 6 p.m. that is a celebratory event for everyone who has contributed to the success and growth of the company. In addition, Shepstone will be the guest of the honor at the event as everyone will join together to celebrate his 50th birthday.

TBI will also be hosting a vendor fair on this date where attendees can visit and speak with some of the master agent’s top ranking vendors where they can learn everything they want to know about each provider’s individual offerings. Some vendors will even be sponsoring product training sessions throughout the day. With the premier sponsor of the not-to-miss event being CenturyLink Channel Alliance, some other sponsors sure to be present at the newly opened office include: AboveNet, Airespring, Comcast, EarthLink, Level 3, MegaPath, Nitel, Time Warner Cable, Sidera, Verizon Business (News - Alert), Windstream, and XO.

Earlier this month, the company made headlines when it shifted around some of its senior staff roles in order to ramp up partner support. Although Ken Mercer will continue to act as TBI’s senior vice president, he will now zero in on strategic sales and partners of a larger and more technological nature. Further, Geoff Yearack, the current head of TBI’s Wireless Division, has also been named vice president of Operations, wherein he will oversee TBI’s vendor specialist group, the wireless department, PartneriQ, human resources, and eventually the commissions department. And last but not least, Mike Saxby, who continues as the master agent’s chief strategy officer, will also be responsible for TBI’s Channel Sales Management group, which consists of four national channel managers and four inside channel managers.

If you will be in Chicago during this time period, be sure to connect with the master agent to see some exciting exhibits and take part in the celebration cocktail hour from 4-6 p.m. at the TBI Corporate Office located at 5513 N. Cumberland Avenue.
