Master agents play a crucial role in helping to sell service carrier products, as well as managing partners and subagents.

Recently, Tie National, LLC, a national hosted VoIP and data services provider, signed a new master agent agreement with ESCO Technologies, LLC.

ESCO Technologies, Inc. supplies special purpose communications systems for electric, gas, and water utilities, including hardware and software to support advanced metering applications. The company also offers engineered filtration products to the aviation, space and process markets worldwide.

With this new master agent agreement, TIE will now be able to sell ESCO’s CareConnect communications services, a solution that has been designed from the ground up specifically for the senior living industry.

In a press release, Ken Johnson, TIE’s channel sales manager said, “ESCO’s CareConnect solutions perfectly complement our existing suite of leading edge, voice & data products that we offer directly and have made available to our Business Development Partners. We look forward to a long and mutually-rewarding partnership with the ESCO team."

CareConnect provides senior living communities with campus-wide state-of-the-art communications and nurse call technology at no capital cost. It also offers residents better phone, Internet, and TV services at lower monthly rates than they are currently paying.

Currently within the master agent space, major master agents such as Telecom Brokerage (News - Alert) Inc. are revealing that subagents “shopping” may no longer be taking place.

A Channel Partners Online piece stated that although master agencies are continuously going after the same subagents by offering them larger commissions than their competitor, agents are now focusing on more important things such as the level of support they are offered and the amount of expertise or product specialization.
