Everything Channel's XChange Americas event, which just concluded in Dallas, TX, recognized several industry leaders for their expertise.

Everything Channel flew decision makers in to meet with sponsors. Attendees were able to meet more than 300 solutions providers from among 100 leading industry vendor organizations (such as Microsoft (News - Alert)).

Influential channel chiefs and VAR500 executives were also in attendance.

Barb Goldworm, founder, president and chief analyst at Focus L.L.C., spoke at length about virtualization and data center storage. And Tiffani Bova, vice president of IT marketing and channel strategies at Gartner (News - Alert), discussed the value of digital advertising.

When officials from TBI, a master agent and telecom broker, attended the event, the entire experience was insightful. By presenting their business principals before IPED and Gartner analysts, the company was able to grow its business model thanks valuable industry insight and educational sessions.

During the course of the event’s presentations, the concept of telecom agent recruitment came up. In this regard, one common theme was “quality over quantity” – an old adage, but a sound one. Training and open forum discussion illustrated several points of interest and it seems that in the end, telecom agents had best be picked for their skill and not their cost.
