Pantek, a provider of Linux-based IT services and technologies, has been providing 24/7 emergency technical support to its customers. The company now offers Linux Managed Services for proactive Linux and Open Source (News - Alert) Software support.
With the new services the company hopes to reach organizations with a more proactive approach to managing and maintaining their servers, according to Jay Myers, marketing manager, Pantek.
“We'll continue to provide expert emergency support around the clock, but now we can better help avoid those emergencies in the first place,” Myers added.
The new services are designed to help offload day-to-day server related management, improve network operations and identify potential problems before they escalate, company officials added.
Pantek offers the Linux Managed Services in flexible packages. The company also offers custom package to fit the specific needs of their clients.
In November, TMCnet reported that Pantek earned the GreenPlus Certification offered by the Institute for Sustainable Development's Green Plus program. Pantek is one among the four organizations that earned the certification in the third quarter of 2010.
Pantek has demonstrated strong commitment toward sustainability and improving their green practices. The company adopted sustainable energy practices and environment-friendly measures to reduce energy consumption in their new office. As part of this, the company installed power efficient computers with rated energy saving power supplies.
As part of its sustainability initiatives, Pantek also initiated a program to reduce travel of their employees. Under this program, employees who demonstrate excellence in their work are allowed to work from home for one or more days per week.
