American Industrial Systems, Inc. (AIS) recently added an ARM (News - Alert) microprocessor and a new set of operating software options for machine to machine (M2M), home and building automation applications.
The new HMI multitouch display from AIS is available in a 7-inch 1024 x 600 WSVGA screen size and is powered by a Texas Instruments (News - Alert) (TI) Sitara ARM Cortex-A8 microprocessor.
Utilizing the Projective Capacitive Touch (PCT) technology, this display features a new set of operating system software options for all the popular operating systems and several third-party systems.
The new HMI multi-touch display comes preloaded with Linux, Android (News - Alert) or Windows Embedded Compact 7 OS.
This display can customize a range of third-party real-time operating system (RTOS) that can connect to M2M, industrial, home and building automation applications.
The accurate, responsive and easy-to-use AIS 7-inch flat panel mount multitouch PC enables migration of existing single-touch applications to a gesture-based interface.
This panel also includes PoE technology, boasting a system designed to transfer electrical power, along with data, to remote devices over standard category 5 cable in an Ethernet network.
The transfer is simple as users don’t have to modify existing Ethernet cabling infrastructure. For most businesses, the AIS 7-inch HMI panel serves as a cost-effective solution that ensures quick data transfer.
AIS offers in-house electronic and mechanical design, software development, manufacturing, production and quality control services. Last year, the company launched a new family of multi-touch panel PCs and human machine interfaces for a range of growing applications in intelligent transportation systems and infrastructure.
These systems are ideal for serving transportation and driver information systems that require rugged multitouch panel PCs and HMI operator consoles in vehicles.
